Last Thursday, I borrowed a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AF from Lai for a 1 week test shoot before I decide to buy one for myself.
I decided to pamper myself with Japanese food again (what to do, I love it so much!) and it has to be somewhere near to my office. So Tomoe Japanese Restaurant came to my mind since I always saw it on my way to SJMC for my follow-up. I gave them a call and reserved a table for 2.
I reached there at 8pm and just left my car to the jockey, how convenient! I thought that the sliding wooden door which is the main entrance, quite interesting. Took my seat, studied the menu and start ordering after a few minutes. Hot Ocha (green tea) was served immediately after ordering.

The Chawan Mushi (egg custard) came first. Overall, I don’t really like it as it is too salty for my liking.

Next came the Hitokuchi Beef Katsu - curry fuumi (beef cutlet with curry flavor) that the waitress suggested to me earlier on when I asked for her recommendation. The meat was minced, shaped, breaded and then deep fried. It came with sauce and spices to compliment. The curry flavor in the beef was actually quite mild but the aroma was there and I enjoyed every bite.

Hirame Usuzukuri (thinly sliced flounder with ponzu sauce). Served alongside were aka tosaka, ao tosaka, wakame, onions and momiji oroshi. The fish was fresh and yummy~

Hirame and karei look very much alike, but they are of different species. Hirame has the eye on the left side while karei has the eye on the right side.
We also ordered the Gindara Teriyaki (grilled cod fish in teriyaki sauce) which is quite okay but still lacking in taste. Maybe it could have been better to have the fish grilled with the teriyaki sauce instead of just grilling the fish itself and then only put it onto the sauce.

Dragon Roll - Tomoe Special. Instead of the usual eel and avocado combination, Tomoe used fried king prawn, maguro (tuna), shake (salmon) and avocado for this roll. However, it was just so-so because they are too generous with the mustard that it covered the overall taste. Period.

One of my favorite order in a Japanese restaurant is of course the Tempura Moriawase (assorted tempura)! I gave this a thumbs up. The ebi (prawn) was really really fresh! Not to mention it’s really crispy! Yums~ Served alongside was tentsuyu and grated radish. They gave you the option of lemon and salt by the side too as sometimes tempura is eaten simply with lemon juice & salt ^^

After eating all that, my stomach still had room for desserts :D I ordered Macha Ice Cream and Yuzu Sorbet (citrus sorbet) for my companion. No picture on the Yuzu Sorbet :P It was really sour… As for my Macha Ice Cream with azuki, it was NICE! :)

It was nice! My expression tells it all :P
Below are the interior shots of the restaurant but only the ones surrounding me :P The restaurant is actually quite big and has a few levels too :)

The total bill costs RM209.30 for 2 persons. I thought the price was okay but overall not too satisfying. I still preferred Ninja Jones although it’s more pricey than Tomoe. Maybe I should post up my Ninja Jones visit here too instead of just posting it in my Facebook :P
